Title: XJ 4.0 Auto 1993 removing the AC pump, shorter serpentine belt length?
Post by: Green Jeep on June 25, 2009, 10:05:59 AM
Hi,

Just wondered if anyone knows the correct or even a rough idea of the length of the belt needed if you remove the AC pump? Standard length is 2150mm (from memory)

Or can it not be done? Different route?

I offered up the spare belt from a Wrangler 4.0 Manual with no AC and it was way to short 1800mm.

Any idea's? Many thanks in advance Maf

Have a look here  http://www.offroading.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=3518&p=19405#p19405 (http://www.offroading.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=3518&p=19405#p19405)

The part number of the belt i used is Gates micro-v 6PK2238 68464, but it depends on the pulley layout. Mines the same as the last pic.
Its still running like that with no problems.

Dave.
