Title: heater pissing all over the floor

My heater has decided to empty itself, also pool under car n/s just in front of bulkhead poss from what looks like a drain hose.
Car is 96 XJ diesel.

Any help / suggestions welcome.  Thanks.

Are you saying the heater matrix is empty? water/coolant in the vehicle or on the ground? I'm a little confused by your description.

It's common for the matrix to leak - sadly this is a dash out operation and takes about a day.

Hi Isle of Man,
Water/coolant leaked out below dash on both sides also pool on ground that looks as if it came from what I imagine is a drain hose coming though bulkhead from inside.
If the heater matrix is what has emptied itself does this suggest replacement required. Also warning light on dash which displays red radiator with black cross over it. Will investigate further and report back.

If it's chucked coolant inside the car the heater is fooked. Major dash out job. Diesels don't like coolant loss so it needs fixing asap. You could bypass the heater for now by disconnecting the two hoses that go through the firewall and joining them together.
