hi guys, i have a 1982 cj7 laredo 4.2 . it is fitted with a replacement webber carb , all the old rubber pipes that were conected to the origanal carb and inlet manafold are now gone ! it still has the 2outlet pipes on the fule filter, can i fit a line in line out fule filter (direct to carb) ? do i still need to worry about the charcoal filter, as i have recently fitted a new fule sender unit also and would like to know if i still need to conect the pipes ect to the charcoal filter from the fule tank, or can i just block them off, and disgard the charcoal filter, and run new pipes from sender unit/fule tank to fule pump and just have single fule filter ? thanks in advance, just want to be sure before i refit tank ect, . many thanks mark

charcoal should only be used for BBQs, junk it

aren't charcoal filters used for emmissions

yup they are used on cj's to vent the petrol tank thru,

When the original ECU controlled carb and associated gubbins are fitted, the charcoal stores fuel vapour from the tank, which is then released into the inlet manifold and burnt in the engine when cruising.

cjs had charcoal filters a long time before ecus.s you dont need it throw it away dood
you can use an inline filter but you will have to plug the return exess fuel line to the tank thars nothing wrong with the original setup as long as the filter is fitted rite
