Post by: DiXmon on October 03, 2009, 02:02:55 PM
I have Jeep Cherokee 2.5TD 2000 year.
In one day odometer reads "no bus", speed gauge not functioning, immobilaser and check engine light is on, engine do not start.
What is the problem and how to fix it?

P.S. Sorry for my bad english :(

Hi there....I am afraid i cannot help with your problem , but i am sure somebody here will be able to advise you what to do....   I also have a Jeep 2.5 diesal , but i have not had a problem similar to yours.....  Its nice to meet a Jeep owner in Belarus , i drove to Belarus from the UK in my Landrover , and stayed with some lovely people in the town of Novopolotsk....     Now i live in Poland , maybe i visit Belarus again some day...do you have many Jeep owners there , and is there Jeep club in Belarus...?           Jan , Polska....

Something is blocking the computer network (bus) between modules.
1. make sure the battery is good.
2. check for blown fuses under the hood and under the dash.
3. if you've recently been messing with the wiring, undo whatever you did.
4. disconnect the crank sensor and see if the dash recovers and the Jeep cranks (it won't start like this) if it does the senor is at fault.
5. remove the instrument cluster and clean the connectors in the back.
6. take the bus.

"no bus"

Maybe your jeep has developed an "attitude" and it is saying none of your business. lol. Wouldn't put it past my 99 ZJ doing that. lol. On a serious note I would go for the vehicle speed sensor.
