Having fitted the winch to the Jeep I decided to create another storage area in the back, the plan was to use the existing Van Vault for tools and other clean dry stuff, and then to create another area for dirty/wet stuff.
The first image below shows the basic frame I have welded up to form the basis of the box.

The next image shows the frame fitted into place in the back of the TJ, along with the existing van vault.

The next stage was to get some 16 gauge sheet to cover the frame with, this I managed to get for the sum of zero pounds from one of our suppliers at work. With the steel box that I retreived from the scrap bin at the steel suppliers it is working out reasonably cost effective. the image below shows the sheet welded to the frame.

The next stage was to paint it and I also fitted some eyes to allow me to tie stuff down to it when necessary.

The final stage was to refit it back into the rear of the TJ.

And also i decided to reuse the carpet, just need to get some adhesive velcro to finish that bit.

The final stage is to take out everything in the back and rubberise the bed but that will not be for a few weeks or may even be after christmas
Thanks for looking.
Cheers

Another fine fabrication!
Also if anybody needs locks, hinges, handles etc for projects such as these; drop me a pm. I work for Southco who make thousands of these sort of parts (including the softop & interior latches used on Wranglers).

Well no where near the fabrication skills previously demonstrated but as the dog usually accompanies us on trips out, been looking around for something other than a rucksack in the back for containing bits n bobs, mostly the dogs stuff & wellies etc. Not planning to put heavy stuff in, shackles n stuff are kept in canvas tool bags low down behind the seats so had a couple of these puppies delivered yesterday.
