sorry guys, not a jeep related prob. Put the zt in for a timin belt & service etc bout 4 weeks ago, they claimed it a 6hr job ( lying fuckers :hysterical: ) and an investigation into why an engine management light was on (car was runnin perfectly), and 4 weeks later still no motor. They claimed the engine management light was due to cylinder 5 misfiring and it needed the plug changing (plugs due for change at 50k, currently 48k) so i agreed to them doin this. The problem now is that they cant get the car to start. So, this is where the ecu comes in, apparently the ecu is shagged and needs a new one - not cheap.
At this point we are having a 'dispute', im sayin the car went in runnin without issue, albeit with a management light on, and since they have changed the plugs, timing belt and service the car now wont even start, therefore clearly their prob (& more importantly, their bill). They are sayin its just unfortunate timing (no pun intended). Is it possible that the work they did shagged the ecu?
Accordin to trading standards i have to pay them whatever they ask for, then get an independant inspection, then take them to court - not a lot of fuckin help!
Cheers as usual

You do have other options (before the Lithuanian) Is this a main dealer? Are they part of any independent body? Do you have a loan car?
-
there may be trouble ahead
-
yeah they did giv me a courtesy car as soon as they went over the "6 hrs", its an 02 punto :011: still got it, TBH they not bein wankers as such, but im not keen on pickin up an extra bill either
no not main dealer coz its mg, actually an LPG garage as thats what i run and they touted me for the business when i had an lpg service
they belong to various bodies, dunno if they worth anything - motorcodes (Industry led Code Of Practice), British Standards Institution. Guardians of quality - Owners of the Kitemark, Kent County Council Trading Standards
-
so does this thing run on lpg
-
Good news - you have a case!!!!
motor codes (Industry led Code Of Practice) they will have a procedure in place with independent arbitration simply call in pick up a leaflet and start the ball rolling.
-
:greggmo: cheers dood, will do that
do u have any ideas on whether it was them or not?
-
Let the process decide.

As da man says..
-
trumpets blaring etc etc - motor is ready for collection, all runnin present and correct (allegedly), and best of all, because there is no idications they can find why the ecu went they gonna cough for it, so, apart from checkin the bill 2mrw with a finetooth comb hopefully one more stress ticked off the list.
