If I buy a set of 4 36" tyres for my 2 door Cherokee (FSJ)
What happens when I get a flat (assuming a can of sealant fails)
Sounds dumb but I can't see having a 30" on with three 36"s being legal.
-
simple buy 5
-
Yup....
-
The legal part is both tyres on the same axle have to be the same size, so carry 2 30" spares
-
thats interestin Ian, never knew that
you could always keep an eye out for a single 35, they always kickin around on difflock and devon, thats close enuff not too notice short term :003:
but u must have some 30's layin around attached to a stable member? if not i got a pair of bfg at 30 x 9.5 x 15 that are bit past their prime you can have, they certainly got easy enuff tread for an mot, just missin a few chunks etc
i also got some retro all terrains at the same size - Armstrong Norsemans - proper US retros for ya beastie :003:

Actually its the RAC that fits the bill- I'm covered not the vehicle.
I'm guessing they'd say I should be carrying a spare and tell me to sod off.......otherwise they might just organise some extortionate rip-off tyre fitting firm to fit a new tyre for me = £££££££££££.
Can't carry a 36x12.50 spare in the usual place on a FSJ (not enough room)
Could stick it in the cargo area like a XJ (got a feelin it would totally dominate the whole interior)
Could build a swing away spare carrier like a CJ and not be able to see out the tailgate window, not to mention tryin to make the carrier strong enough not to tear the back of the body/chassis off.
Could find a 36" space saver if such a thing exists.

Bonnet?

:hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:
One foot high x three foot wide tyre on the bonnet?????
Gonna need a periscope through the roof just to get a clue where I'm heading :017:
Also 10x stronger springs on the hood hinges to counterbalence the extra weight.
Either that or spend two evenings per week down the gym just to check the engine oil :003:
-
under a deck in the boot methinks
-
What about something like a Swamper TSL Q78 - 35x9.5? They come up tall I was told and being 3" narrower it might fit somewhere??

Many new cars don't have a spare tyre...

Ummmmmm....yeah,
I find that quite disturbing actually :icon_eek:
No point having a spare really when the new generation of motorist has the AA on speedial.
Wouldn't know how to change a wheel and wouldn't want to learn either :jpshakehead:
I just don't like what it's all leading towards..........
-
Take another birty...most are equipped with a spare tyre...
-
Some of them have it around their waist :003:
-
Harsh but true :003: :003:
-
you need a greggmo i beleive they only come in large sizes.......waist wise. :icon_razz:
