In the WK?
Is it a bigger version of the 2.7?
Enquiring minds need to know..
-
Don't post often, the answer is no, both Merc lumps but very different.
2.7 straight 5 about 163 bhp, I think
3.0 is a V6 215 bhp, very nice engine, if you can't tell I have a WK :icon_winkle:
for what it's worth here's a picture, not that you can see much as it's shoe horned in there.

Is that a carrying handle across the middle? and a bonnet release catch at the front? :017: :017:
-
Nope, it's a strut brace across the back, the WK uses a McPherson strut setup on the front, the bar is for additional strength.
the thing your looking at near the front is a locating hole for the big plastic thing that covers the engine, WHY all car manufacturer's do this I don't know....
-
its so women have less choices to put the wrong fluid in........hence easier for AA /RAC to diagnose the problems

I can believe that being an ex mechanic, saw a few strange things over the years. :jpshakehead:
although when I admit to being an ex mechanic, some people ask "what you buy a jeep for then, you should have known better" :icon_rolleyes:

what does a diseasel run on? weasle extract?
-
confirmed it's a Mercedes-Benz engine same as the ML.
-
Jeep do a Startech power upgrade to 250bhp I believe, and it can do average 30mpg I was told by an owner. I want one if you couldn't tell :icon_winkle:
