hi all :100:
i have a 2001 petrol 4.0ltr grand cherokee
i have recently had fitted an auto gearbox govenor sensor which is located inside the transmission fluid sump
since it was fitted my radio stopped working! the radio turns on but it is just as if the aerial has been disconected?
i even bought a new jeep stereo but the problem still persists (the garage who carried out the work say it's nothing to do with them!) :icon_rolleyes:
anyone had a similar experience?

thats a strange one for sure is it just the radio thats playing up
-
yes strange isn't it! the cd works ok but occasionly sounds like something hasn't been supressed
-
It worked when you took it to them ,,,it didn't when returned...
Short term disconnect the negative lead from the battery for 15 minutes...see if it resets stuff..

already tried that! thanks bishops finger! i'm pretty much certain that the component they have fitted is to blame but just wanted to check
if anyone had a similar experience before i get the govenor sensor changed again!

did they need to do any rooting around under the dash? Have you checked the amp connections?
wierd coincidence, I have just had some seals replaced in my WJ gearbox & now can only get 1 speaker to work, I thought it was some duff wiring or blown speakers but....

hi scrw
they said they never went near the dash as all the work is underneath in the transmission sump!
however when i collected the jeep it looked like the dashboard had been interfered with! checked all the usual suspects i guess its
a visit to a car radio specialist :jpshakehead:
