I'm thinking of altering the shroud to make it easier to refit and would appreciate people's views.
As refitting the shroud means removing the radiator, hoses & fan I am thinking of cutting the shroud into 4.
Making clips and using self tapping screws to fit them back together.
This would mean I could refit the shroud without taking the other bits off.
Any thoughts folks?

a shroud doesn't have to be a 1 piece item. as long as it is surrounding the fan and the joints are close together then there should be no real problem.
pre-production units are normally made up of more than 1 piece and gaffer taped together. but gaffer tape is not a permenant solution :hysterical:

Dave & Bubba,
I managed with just 1 join - the jobs a good'un.
I was surprised at the difference in air flow once the shroud was back on so it was definetly worth doing.
I also found that by undoing 3 bolts each side the whole of the front comes away pity I didn't spot this first time round.

Had to do similar on mine - after fan came off and smashed in to pieces - makes it so much easier to get in to do stuff - as on the diesel aircon needs degassing to get in fully

this is what the fan should be doing and you have got it wright,
L/R tried to do away with a shroud on the new disco's but then realised the cooling was reduced dramatically
