Title: wheres it hiding?

having a few 'issues' with my central locking/immobiliser on my 98 XJ sport namely that as soon as I use the lock button it'll 9 times out of 10 unlock itself again straight away and try to repeatedly unlock itself like ya sat on the unlock button! sometimes even when its already unlocked and the keys are on the side in the garage it'll start unlockin itself like ya sat on the unlock button :017: so tryin to think logically (does'nt come naturally) I'm gonna work back along the line startin with the RKE receiver, does anybody know where it hides out? I've tried the centre console above me head,tried behind drivers and passengers door cards and cant find anythin that resembles a receiver (I'm assumin its a kind of wire in the air out of a box job instead of IR) I'm gettin a little lost so if anyone can give me some pointers on where it is or how the system works (other than the obvious push a button an it unlocks!) much appreciated ta :icon_biggrin:

Maybe passenger door..its where they live on GC's..?

thats where I thought it'd be after lookin on the net earlier for some help but after having the door card out and having a rummage inside the door I've been un-able to find it! but then again I dont really even know what it looks like or what size it is to give me a clue! I found something bolted to the inside of the door with three bolts but I thought it was the electric window motor! :017:might have another look in there tommorrow!

I was a hopin too! its runnin fine now though so at least I can get about in it, just cant park it anywhere without disconnectin the battery and lockin all the doors manually! it just wants to fight me all the way this one  :096:

unfortunately not! watchin a few on the bay so if I can get one I'll get it prog'd to mine!
