Any thoughts ...??
-
I use one of these (http://www.ctek.com/EN-GB/Default.aspx), has a conditioning mode for when a vehicle is left for long periods
-
yeah i got one like that it good but i still miss my 12/24 boost charger
-
picked up one from aldi which works well. the downside is that it can't cope with a flat battery. 12v booster(starter)/chargers are great

I have used an optimate on bikes for over 13 years, 1st bike still on original battery thats how good these are.
just do a search for the one for a car battery, however I have used it on a car battery with no problems & reliable charging :icon_winkle:
Loads of extention leads / accessories available

Cheers Gaz the RAC man mentioned these..

On both my Blackbird (somewhere in a scrapyard in Kernow) & my 600, I have an accessory that it permanently connected to the battery terminals with a plug on the end that I just plug the charger into, saves taking the seat off & using crocodile clips each time you use the charger :icon_winkle:
Make sure you get one for a car battery, got one for my moms camper van as its only used infrequently, works a treat :003:

Ctek cigar lighter charger lead
i always steer clear of these types, as you never know what the lighter/aux socket is rated to especially on the older cars

All good comments so thanks..got a conundrum tho....following on from morning thread...TJ was driven @ 25 miles Saturday after recharge and @ 30 miles sunday including @ 1.5 hours with the engine running...took it to CPC this avo and battery was checked...doodad gave battery OK but charging needed....so drove another 7 miles...tempted to leave it and see what happens...gauge reads ok...

Dodgy alternator or loose belt ?
Possibly something shorting & draining the battery like interior lights or winch electrics ?
-
Starts on the button...?

emailed accumate and ctek..

Devon 4x4 mailed back...silly money...

was in lidl on tuesday, £12.99 for a trickle charger, how complicated can on be?
-
Offer on in my local Halfords, an Automatic battery charger 1/2 price, suitable for sealed and gel type batteries (Optima, Odyssey..), bike and leisure batteries and can charge and then automatically switch to maintenance. Sounds good and only £37.99.
What do you think? I'm always a bit skeptical about Halfords brand products (except their professional tools).

Seems like a plan, I can only speak from experience that the opimate ones are good. The one (permanently it seems) attached to my bike for last 7 years.
The other one at least 12 years old, currently looking after the yellow top on the TJ. It ususally looks after the TJ's original battery that sits at the back of the garage for when using my T Max compressor of those just in case moments.

Off to Lidl after work..
