Title: Cherokee 2.5 Manual box into Wrangler 4.0 YJ...
Post by: Green Jeep on March 09, 2010, 06:43:01 PM
I'm breaking a Cherokee 2.5 soon and wondered if it as worth keeping the gearbox in case the Wrangler one ever let go, I guess the ratio's are different, but otherwise is it all the same, or slight mods?

Thanks in advance Maf

Without knowing the years I'd guess the 2.5 box would be the weakling AX5, while the 4.0 Wrangler will have the beefier AX15.

Not strong enough, won't fit clutch, transfer box won't fit.

Big thanks, will leave it and junk most of it, happy days as my mate borrowed it and its covered in mud, didn't fancy lying underneath that....
