Title: Auto 4.0 Grand

HELP !!!!!!  2001 4.0 Grand lost all drive suddenly, no warning, no fluid loss but now whining on start up. Can anyone throw any light on this ?? Thanks, Peter.

Peter OK I will try to help - is the symptom the same in 4X4 as 2X4?

sorry but permanent 4x4 ?? same noise low or high box, goes up n down wit revs. torque converter ?? maybe

Does the speedo read in spite of the jeep not moving?

Have you checked the fluid level with the engine running?

Have you checked the flexi plate bolts?
