Hi everyone,
I need a towbar for my WJ; I plan to fit it myself. Ideally a detachable (anyone got one for sale!).
Regarding the electrics; has anyone done theirs; there doesn't seem to be a model specific bar wiring loom.
I've seen on Youtube a 'how to' video which shows a connector behind the trim panel in the boot is this US only?
I have a hatred for scotchlocs so won't use these and don't wish to hack the loom about..

You can get a more or less 'plug and play' wiring kit from Jeep but it ain't cheap.

Cheers Mike; thats what I want (maybe not what my wallet agrees to though) will contact the dealer assuming I can find one still open.

did one a few weeks ago, bought a pwered relay box thing to run the rear lights, install it on the drivers side & take power from the ciggy lighter in the boot, just have to run a feed wire from the near side indicator, took a couple or so hours, tow bar and electrics were £140 delivered plus 2 afternoons fitting. Best quote to get one fitted locally was £290 :hysterical:

Well got myself a Thule tow detachable bar & fitted it, ordered the plug n play electrics from Cheltenham Jeep for an unbelievable £25 (cheapest jeep part ever?), which turned out to be the wrong ones when I went 30miles to pick them up , the price then went upto £60 before finally settling at £130 all because the dealer didn't know much about Jeep parts, the car has been off the road for 5 days meanwhile (bumper off etc).
To be fair the parts manager discounted it & the other service items I wanted to cost, but it meant it all worked out more expensive than wouldve been to have it pro fitted. :icon_redface:
