If you are going to get it done make sure , you get a multipoint system and that you see examples of the fitters work. If they are done properly, you shouldn't have any problems, if they are done badly they are a nightmare. and your engine needs to be in a decent condition first otherwise you are just wasting money.

The place I am looking at has done Grand's & has one for sale too. What sort of MPG to you get are they good for short journeys.

if he has got one for sale , ask if you can take it out for a spin and see how it goes, lpg isn't as efficient at producing power as petrol so you will be down a few hp but it is kinda to engines, oil lasts longer and stays cleaner and as long as you look after them they are fine, its not the "devils fuel" some people say, we used to have a xj running single point lpg and a smart car at the same time both would cost me £20 to fill up at the time and both would cover 250+ miles on that so I would say they are as economical to run as you want. your driving style has more influence on what mpg you get, those with a heavy foot and who are constantly in either braking or accelerating mode are always going to get bad mpg whatever they drive.those who prefer to cruise at 65mph will always  get better, its horses for courses really.

The 4.0 is good for LPG, I've done 65k miles with an OMVL multipoint setup and only had to change a filter (should probably have maintained it more I know).

MPG is probably 5-10% down on LPG but it's about half the price .

the mpg doesn't realy matter it's the saving on the cost of filling up that is seen.

using petrol every now and then helps the running and stops the petrol pump rusting up

:imwitstupid: talks sense on such matters, and if you do it get an approved person to do it so you get the certificate

it goes very wrong quickly, single point, diy jobs, kits off ebay....= headaches
good luck!

Got mine done by some guys in Huntingdon who've now moved to Southend to do fleet stuff. I chose them cos they had a couple of Winnebagos with 454 ci big blocks straight from the factory/dock and were doing 2 V10 Rams, and also had a drail (rail) that they raced.... figured they new there stuff and were enthusiasts :icon_super:

Took me 3 years of sitting on the fence and researching the various options..... Also as said a good engine is paramount .....I had just got my present YJ with a new engine with 23,000 miles on and receipt for new engine from the poor sucker that replaced it :jpshakehead:

Nearly five years and so far great, but you gotta keep it a long time to get your laughs at the one eyed unelected out going twat :icon_super:
