Title: Long over due Service!
Post by: rob.79 on May 05, 2010, 03:37:01 PM
after a long over due service on the jeep, as it clicked round to 150,000 miles  :steeringwheel:, i have a huge list of work to do. most important is a front prop shaft, as the old one, needed to be removed, after the rear joint siezed and stripped to splines from the shaft! and i've a pretty serious oil leak from what i think is the rear crank oil seal? so i've ordered a seal, and hope to be having the box out to repair it this weekend..

does anyone know of a S/H front prop shaft for a 2002 cherokee, 2.5 CRD, 5 spd man, going spare? and will a shaft from another model fit?  i have found joint kits on Ebay, but it is the shaft i require, even a shaft with a broken/damaged rear joint would be fine, as it could be repaired (stealers want £350, as they only sell the complete shaft!! :jpshakehead:)

then i can start on the other jobs!!!!!!!

I don't know where you are in the country but I got a new custom prop for my XJ from RECO-PROP in Luton. They will easily get you a standard replacement and I only paid your stealership price for my custom one that I asked for quick turnaround (so probably paid for!).

I assume the KJ uses a different prop shaft to an XJ.
