You may have seen these questions before, if so, sorry, i'm new.
Can i fit 31" M/T's on a standard Tj using 15" wheels ?
Am i best to get another set of wheels and keep the M/Ts for off road as the wife uses the car as her daily driver. In other words are M/Ts no good on the road ?
I have seen the Warn front and rear bumpers, are there any similar ones around with recovery points and to accept a winch for a cheaper price ?
If any of you have these items for sale please let me know or give me some places to try.
Cheers

Welcome to Birty's mate
MT's are crap in the wet so you are better off getting some additional wheels to put them on, for daily use stick to AT's or road tyres if you can.
Stew will probably correct me but I think he maybe running 31's on his TJ with standard suspension at the moment (I think the "standard" bit is about to change though).
Where abouts are you in Redditch are you ? I work in Hewell road near the swimming baths & got relatives in Matchborough.

yup we do a bumper set, ed bought our ex demo set. front and rears come to £300 delivered for the pair.

Welcome to Birty's mate :D
M/T's are OK in the wet but with A TJ you've just got to be a bit carefull thats all
Yes I do run 31's on a standard ride height - you may need to adjust the steering stops tho which is a 5 minute job for a mechanical muppet like me
-
steering stops? you can adjust them?
-
Have to agree with my herbal friend on this......MT's are fine in the wet!! I have happily cruised at 90 on the motorway on em!!
Just have to be sensible on corners.......
-
sorry if i'm hijacking this post, but it the steering stop adjustment covered in the haynes manual?
-
probably, but if you have more than an ounce of mechanical knowledge you should be able to see what needs adjusting by sticking yer head under the wheel on full lock..
on the XJ its a bolt & locknut on the hub that hits the axle on full lock which you just lengthen or shorten.... cant see why a TJ would be any different........
-
You actually undo a bolt each side put a washer or two on it and put the bolt back in - If the steering still catches on full lock repeat and add another washer each side

You don't need exotic bumpers to fit a winch to a TJ. Just a winch plate that bolts on top of the front frame rails.
-
Whats wrong with erotic bumpers? :D
-
Absolutely nothing wrong mate  hence my recomendation
-
obviously your 91mph was not on a uk road system!!!!! must have been here in the isle of man where we have no speed limit......and there is nothing erotic here though?
got no answer about the highjacked link sorry..........
