Title: Steering wheel alignment
Post by: MOCAJ on May 18, 2010, 10:41:48 PM
On 97 TJ

Swopped my steering box at the weekend but my steering wheel is no longer centered

didnt move the wheel when swapping so is it best to

a) disconect steering colum, straighten wheel and re-assemble or

b) adjust it on the drag link

steering wheel is nearly 1/2 turn out so is that too much for the drag link ??

I'd adjust at the steering column

Disconect steering shaft then, Rotate wheels and steering wheel to straight and re-assemble

If I cant get it exact cos of the splines and flat, fine tweak on the drag link

Does that sound right ??

Pissed off as the steering wheel must have moved without me realising  :icon_twisted:

I think it has a master spline so you can't.
