Haing just replaced the cylinder head on my 1998 4.0 L XJ the engine now idles at over 2000rpm. All throttle linkages and vac hoses are OK. Is the problem likely to be the IAC if so is it something I can fix myself or does it need to go to a dealer to be set up? Where will fault codes be displayed, on the o/head console?

might be worth changing the small sensor right at the back of the head on the RH side (as you look at the engine) only one wire, turned my poor running XJ into sweet runner again... cheers Maf
