Over the last few days I've been getting the jeep ready for the mot, i always clean and underseal the chaise rails and floor and use Schultz spray cans or similar, but they always bung up and make a fooking mess, I've used brush on tetroseal waste of money like brushing on raw bitumen! now today i used brush on hammeright underseal covers fantastic its mixed with waxoil no mess and a good finish, recomended!!.......

used that stuff myself a few weeks ago,great stuff,but took 2 days to dry hard,but very good value for money,and a little goes a long way,load left over for next year.
worth the effort.

I spent a couple of days a week back blasting the chassis both inside and out with loads (about 8 litres) of waxoyl. It has still not fully dried, but I reckon it will add many years to the life expectancy of the Jeep. It’s the second time I’ve done it, the first time I gave it a light spray, but this time I used a proper compressed air applicator and I’m really pleased with the finish.

Buy an ex military lard rover and see how much good underseal does.
About 6mm of solid bitumen and ROTTEN AS A PEAR under it.
I'd rather put my faith in Waxoyl as long as it's applied to a clean dry surface.

Underseal is shite. You want something like Waxoyl that doesn't set.

i did a camper van with a wax oil kit a few years ago.
you get a big can with a pump on and a spray nozzle.
it made a real neat job

LDV used to use an undeeal that self sealed so it never realy set. was realy messy when things needed working on underneath.
waxoil is good for inside chassis rails and panels but i personally wouldn't use it on external panels.

I used the pressure-washer under my Jeep a couple of weeks before I treated it, I have a drain cleaner attachment which is great at cleaning all the mud and dirt out of the chassis rails too. The underneath was dry spotless when I applied the Waxoyl.
I’ve used Waxoyl many times in the past and I find it kills any surface rust dead. Also with it not setting like a bitumen type product, if you scratch it or scrape it, then it seems to just reseal the damaged area without the need to reapply a coating.
I must admit, using the compressed air applicator, I used a lot more Waxoyl than I thought I’d need, but I know the job is well covered. Waxoyl’s instructions suggest you can dilute the stuff with up to 10% white spirit, but I just applied it neat, albeit warm.

WD40 the entire underside, frame, axles, arches, engine bay the lot after every jetwash from offroading. :003:

The oil leak from my rear crank seal means my KJ is self coating, enough oil under there to keep away the rust for a few years i should think.... and also anything that follows gets a free covering.......
Prior to this i applied some waxoil, which was very messy and very aromatic!
