hello got into my xj this morning and both front electric seats n/w.checked all fuses and all ok one circuit breaker in drivers side kick panel was red hot so i removed .checked rest of car and every thing still working.so guessed link to seat fault.i got 1997 facelift xj is there any know places of wiring faults to cause concern thanks.

the connection to the seats is a piggy back plastic connector which is located under the carpet on the left hand side of the tunnel near the rear left hand seat bolt. this is on the mk1 so i am assuming it's the same for the mk 2. this connection corodes badly resulting in loss of seat use. the downside for you means the passenger seat has to come out so you can lift the carpet to get to it.
