-
What colour underpants do you wear when this phenomenon happens???
-
drive forward slowly,,,brake then drive backwards and then brake. is there still a clunk if so could be ball joint

OK OK - back on topic, try tightening (with shiny spanner) the suspension arm upper and lower joints, then report back...
-
don't you mean a socket and large bar
-
Look you lot, you might as well be talking Greek, this is Stew we are talking about. Stew, nip off to the nearest Jeep dealer..I mean service centre and pay for thier next holiday.... :hysterical:...spanners...Stew.. :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:
-
clunk with a bit of twang ?
-
No it just happens from cold ...ie not used for a few hours...GC can be driven for several rotations on the wheels then turn left and it clunks....
-
something's worn/loose :003:
-
yeah, im with James, my gut instinct is that something is wrong
-
Yeah right......as if you'd know.. :hysterical:
-
mm may be one of those cv joints in the front axle giving notice of the newness wearing of i cant realy tell from here
-
Yeah right......as if you'd know.. :hysterical:
its not that I know exactly, just a feeling I have, there is def something wrong
-
Me think its a joint issue...gonna book it into a local garage if sorted Jeepy event is more likely...
-
Hoik the front end into the air
let it cool down if you feel like it
without starting crank the steering to full lock
rotate road wheels listening and feeling for ummmm .... buggeredness!
Or, (dry day suggested)
With trusted assistant in drivers seat
bus in neutral - handbrake on etc.
get under the front end
select any likely looking item that wont bite and grab hold
have assistant wind steering from lock to opposite lock a few times
look listen feel to try and find source of racket
if things look close - use a long screwdriver instead of a finger - it dont hurt so much if you misjudge things!
Last thought for the day:
Was your jeep subject to the brake disc recall & if so was it done?
if you're not sure, check the front disks are still in one piece and that the disk is not getting ready to fall off the hub! (failure occurs around circumfrential weld line).
-
Discs were replaced last service....issue was a loose bolt on the panhard rod......the radiator is however fooked.... :banghead:
Recon job being investigated
-
bet it was that one with the metal tag on it thread goes mushy on them
-

I must admit to being a little baffled as to why Stew sees the leaky rad as the end of the world.
Forget talk of selling it or scrapping it and get a new rad! Your local backstreet garage will happily
do it for you.
-
i agree bish get a new rad then bless it and all will be well
-
Bubba/Tim wise words....
Nicking the sunday collection for the next few weeks and selling the collection plate on ebay..I think
Better the devil ya know...
-
its hardly rocket science to replace and you can even do it with a shiny tool kit.
-
its a good truck ya holiness i had a good look under it i think it well worth a rad fix beat on it like its a loner then get rid when its shagged or ya gets fed up with it ?,.,.!"? [for tim]
-
Bubba...you are blessed with psychic wisdom...(or cider)...
-
well worth a rad fix beat on it

Well, we've come a long way since our first recap of this thread, so here's another to get everyone up
to speed.
Problem: I have a clunk coming from the steering on my Grand Cherokee.
Solution 1: Wear a studded PVC thong.
Solution 2: Replace the radiator.
Solution 3: Masturbate in a Welsh church.
With such fine advice, how can you possibly go wrong! :hysterical:
-
How very true....
-
Of course, I realise that the above suggestions are all in a days work for some members :icon_eek:
