Hardly worth a thread but took the chief roof rack off to paint the roof, and when puttin it back on it doesnt seem to wanna tighten up: do the rubber things u screw into have to be replaced everytime?

rubber
-
yeah rubber, i think, like a grommet?
is that not what it is?
-
rubber
a-dub-dub,
Three men in a tub,
And how do you think they got there?
The butcher, the baker,
The candlestick-maker,
They all jumped out of a rotten potato,
'Twas enough to make a man stare

You never heard that nursery rhyme bulldog.
rubber is not normally used as a fastener especially on a roofrack are there no metallic fixings anywhere??
-
i think you will find you have tinkered it to death the rubber grommets are to stop leaks sounds like the internal fixing plates have err.......fell out of place
-
bollox :011:
i only just fixed the roof panels back up in place :011:

least you know how to do it
you might be able to fish for then through the bolt holes
