Title: K & N Filters
Post by: Bishops Finger on July 29, 2010, 01:00:56 PM
Have run these in most stuff for years with zero issue...Tj got back from service today and K +N   inlet filters been removed and left in the back filter seems full of crap so once again used K@N cleaner and hosed it out.....not impressed cos it gets a clean @ every 6 months....

Edit now posted in correct section DOH

was the dirty side on the air inlet side or the motor side? if its the motor side be happy and see what it stopped from going through into your motor. If it was dirty on both sides i would have a look that your airbox is sealed correctly and not allowing things to come in the lid.
Ponyracer had one in the xj years ago and ribbos mud killed his alt, under the filter was packed full of crap but the top of the filter was perfectly clean.

Used them in the past, but never made any difference apart from more noise. Anecdotal evidence
suggests many owners are pleased with them. Hard scientific fact says they let a lot more dirt into
your engine. You pays your money.....

Would love to see it...... I think they are over priced but every thing I have ever seen or read shows that they hold back more dirt when used right and oiled. Although they do let in less air than some other filters also.

I usually chuck a Mann filter in for oil and air, never had problems doing this this with the old xj so am carrying on the tradition with this  :greggmo:
