Title: Dana 35c bearing part numbers
Post by: keegantj on August 20, 2010, 09:51:48 AM
My Grand Cherokee 1998 4.0 litre petrol needs a rear axle rebuild. The bearings that are in it are worn and I can't read the numbers stamped in the bearing casing to order new ones. Does anyone know the Timken pat numbers for the 2 pinion bearings and the diff side bearings, thanks, Tim.

Look at the DT Components (Timken) catalogue. http://www.dtcomponents.com/files/DT2008.pdf (http://www.dtcomponents.com/files/DT2008.pdf) Page 71.
Standard kit is DRK-335, Master kit is DRK-335MK. Page 68 tells you what each kit contains.

Ringing Lighthouse would probably be easier.

If you can find the numbers you can save money... recently got a front axle top pinion bearing, locally on the shelf for £9, made in USA, Lighthouse price is £25... my mate found the part number by looking through google under Dana 30, the OE numbers where no use to bearing supplier.

Hope this helps, Maf

Yeah I'm not pointing the finger at Lighthouse as it could well be that their supplier charges them a higher price, but along with seals if you buy through a more direct route you can save a packet, plus they can be on the shelf in your home town. Worth a go eh?

Has anyone found a cheaper source of UJ's?

prop shaft UJ's I get from the local motor factors - £13 ish each - got a couple a few weeks ago - the ones this time were greaseable ones for that price

Just measure it and take the dimensions - he got them in on his next delivery about an hour later :greggmo:
