will the springs of a diesel leradro (how ever you spell it
)give my 96gc a lift as i have lpg tank underneath and do a bit of towing or is there a cheaper way to get a bit of a lift
cheers folks

I have just stuck diesel springs under the back of my petrol/LPG XJ. It gave it about a 4" lift (with spacers on the front springs), a firmer (in a good way) ride, and as you can see, the trailer doesn't pull the back down like it used to:

cheers for the pic can see a big change how easy was it to do and how long did it take
-
I dont think the diesel GC was higher than the petrol. I'd just stick some spacers under it if you want a quick cheap lift
-
ITs not about different ride heights. The diesels are heavier than the petrols, so the springs are made to support more. So if you stick them under something lighter...
I was at a JeepClub event today in Hampshire and noticed just how much taller my "stock" XJ was, especially over some budget boost kits. I really wish i had taken pictures of before and after. That picture above is with a heavy trailer on the back, so it actually is higher in back.

Always belived it was a sump clearance issue with the XJ, not the weight of the engine. I dont see how a 4 pot TD is going to be heavier than a 6 pot with an auto
-
hmm thats what youd think
-
I thought it was sump clearance as well
-
The springs on the diesel are HD springs, the side effect of fitting on a petrol is they lift the rear slightly(especially when it's sagging
).
-
The TD springs are 1" taller than the petrol ones. If they lifted the truck by 4" then the springs really were shot before!!
-
Not arguing that, I know they are taller on the XJ due to the sump issue. BUT I dont think it was the same on the GC and they ran the same springs for both
-
Sorry mate,, I was talkin' about the XJ. .....well at least 'til I've met ya' (no idea how big you might be!)
