Title: Jeep Cherokee 1999 Air Conditioning Motor
Post by: Dan_S on September 30, 2010, 06:02:05 PM
Hi All,

I am a Jeep Cherokee owner and my air conditioning unit is giving up the ghost. Its a 1999 Jeep Cherokee 2.5 TD Sport.
Is there anyway i can bypass the air conditioning motor (never use air con) with a smaller belt without causing any other problems?
Or am i able to unattach the internals of the Air conditioning motor so that the pulley spins freely without the need for a replacement?

I don't want to shell out money for something that is never used.

If you mean the aircon compressor, it doesn't have a pulley, it's driven by a rubber coupling on the back of the power steering pump.
