Title: Rear Brakes on WJ

After a short trip of 50m on a hot day in Sept my rear brakes seized on me. The journey was all on country lanes & I was a bit leadfoot for most of it, by the end of the journey my brakes where smoking & I had little power. After leaving it a few hours I did the same journey again & there was no problem. I was aware there was a problem with the front calipers & have upgraded at much expense to Akebon ones I can't find any common problems with the rear though any thoughts.

Could be the lining coming off one of the parking brake shoes.

have the callipers overhauled, only costs £20 a side for a new piston, seal and dust seal.
had the same issues with my GC, put the akebono callipers on, new discs and pads all round including the handbrake shoes.
not cheap but worth it, with the old callipers the ears on the pads were a tight fit in the brackets so stick easily if not maintained as they should.
with the new pads on the rears the callipers started playing up so had them done.
