Title: XJ pulling to right and snatching brake
Post by: Fizz on October 12, 2010, 07:35:26 PM
my XJ is pulling to the right under braking and snatching the OSF brake. The brakes have been checked and the sliders are free, so are the pistons. Carriers have no grooves in them and the calipers are only 12 months old. it's not used much though... any suggestions

Classic signs of a stuck caliper - very common. Is the caliper/wheel hot or even smoking after using it?

I have had this, but strangely it cleared up on it's own after a pad removal/refit approx 18-24 months ago. The disc on one side was blued by heat and the brakes pulled to the opposite side when hot (the hot side was too hot to work properly). Still waiting for a return of the problem..............

Try removing the pads and working the caliper piston in and out a few times?
