Hi all, new to forum as was looking at US sites which dont seem to feature the diesel model. Anyway would really appreciate any ideas. I have recently purchased a 2003 2.7crd grand cherokee auto with just over 100k. Has been fine until saturday, after a fairly long trip it was parked up for an hour or so. On getting back to car started and drove fine for about 200 yards when as i travelled over a speed hump sudden loss of power- to the extent of no throttle control at all! it starts straight away but is like the throttle cable has snapped (which it hasnt as ive checked) Also the fuel gaugue is showing empty (over half a tank in there) and the oil temp gague on ignition on goes about half way then drops to about a quarter. The management light is on, i have a basic OBD code reader which connects to the socket but wont read any codes. Ive limped the car back to my drive on tickover where it is now sat.ive visually checked all the fuses (both boxes and the relays under the bonnet all are fine)
Would be really gratefull for any ideas!! i did think the throttle position sensor may have failed but seems strange to have no throttle at all!
Thanks

Read this page. http://www.wjjeeps.com/faultcodes.htm (http://www.wjjeeps.com/faultcodes.htm) Specifically read about displaying the codes on
the odometer.....
Retrieving codes:
Turn the ignition key until the digital odometer displays, repeat three times in succession and then back to "On" (On/Off, On/Off, On/Off, On). At the fourth "On" the odometer will be replaced with codes. If no codes are present then "Done" will appear.
The codes are further down that page and will tell you the problem, but it sounds to me like the PCM is buggered.

Disconnect the battery and see if it resets.
