will 255 /70 /16s fitunder the arches without a lift??? :steeringwheel:
-
Doubt it
235-75-15's, or 235-70-16
-
30" max if suspension is in good nick
If springs are knackered less or don't take anyone in the back :003:
-
30"s are usually 9.5" wide, the 255's are 10.5" wide & I reckon will rub the rear arches
-
:003: there is a tech genius in the house that has this sticky which shud help ya:

2nd to last post tho as the first link has gone

i have 265-75-16's fitted to GC rims which are close to the inner wall of the rear wheel arch but the jeep is lifted considerably. 255's id gues would not fit or at least would rub when loaded and carrying passengers
-
looks like i need to save up for a 2" lift then!!!
-
What size are the standard tyres on a TJ?
-
29" inch I believe although I'm currently running 37" inch so my memory could be confused!!!
-
225/75/15 29ish"
-
Thanks. Just trying to get the various sizes into context!
Not sure what model Jeep the OP was referring to, but I'm contemplating a TJ and want something a bit beefier than stock, but not a Tonka. I feel a new thread coming on . . .
-
You can run 31"x1050x15 on a stock TJ, just have to adjust the steering stops a little :icon_winkle:

On my stock 1996 xj td with good suspension all round, I have 235x75x15 on steels. They're about as big as I can get in without the fear of rubbing should i go full lock or have my tools and passenger loaded in the back.
I will be getting bigger tyres next year when me old xj gets lifted ......
