Thought it best to warn you it aint jeep related :011:
Acceleratin in the espace and as u hit 40mph ish it starts to vibrate and shudder until 50mph ish, and does the same again at 70mph ish
It can also do it, although not everytime, when u take ya foot off the gas completely at 70mph ish, can be quite violent shudderin at this point
Any ideas?
I have just done £25 gettin all the wheels rebalanced and it aint that
Cheers
-
I shoulda said 'Any ideas apart from torchin it?'
-
are there any noises or juddering when steering locked right over and going slow, left and right
-

Nope, its French so tourch it, you know its best for everyone

What about the tyres themselves? Have they been checked for any damage, bulges, flat spots at all
-

-
inner cv joint about to fall to pieces or outer or both.....
was this a proper answer or just an excuse to suggest torching it?
-
a proper answer, it needs torching cos its french :flag:
-
i am cool and i say torch it or sell it
-

Galaxy is too small

Corrected it for ya mate. thing is its hard to diagnose problems like that,it could be loads of things, hvae you had the clutch replaced recently? or see if you can think of a another more long winded way of describing exactly what happens.
-
oh and FFS get your roller out man...... you ain't 17 anymore.......

nowhere near enuff stickers for mine, no flames tastefully lickin their way down the side either :jpshakehead:
engine mounts or gearbox mounts will be next exploration, all thanks to a shy renault enthusiast :003:

yep don't buy French cars full stop. any other car manufacturer will admit to a failure the French don't make mistakes....says it all realy.
just glad i didn't pay alot for this french crap scenic.
my opinion sell it and get a toyota mpv
-
too small
-
I like our Voyager and it ain't French.
Wouldn't worry too much about torching it they normally do it themselves once they reach a certain age.
-
Voyager was the only realistic other option (size wise the kia fitted but its a kia, and v v v slow), but i wanted seperate seats (2+2+2) and the voyagers in my price range all had a middle bench seat
-
Mmmmmmm................ ours has 2+2+3 but is quite old.
Sounds like you need a Ford Excursion to keep the neighbour onside.
Heard the v10 triton comes recommended.
-
Chuck it and buy a ricer..
-
cheap old merc estate with 7 seats
-
Get yerself and Mrs BD along to a good hypnotist :greggmo:
Swop the espace for an old transit diesel crewbus, then get the hypnotist to convince you both that it is suave, sophisticated, and powerfull.
Errrrr.......and quiet and very stylish to boot :098:
-
2nd gen Toyota Previa.
-
Chevrolet Surbaban (Holden) has 8 seats (& a 5.7 V8) :icon_super:
Previa is too small again, we got another few years of tryin to fit a pram in every time we go out
-
I like FJ's approach... :greggmo:
-
If ya wants the most bang for yer buck, look at what the Pikeys are driving.
If it's a van it will be a Transit.
If it's a car it'll be a Merc
And if it's a 4x4 it'll be a Shogun
Whatever else you think of 'em, they aint daft :017:
-
true you never see them in landys
-
Mrs BD likes high drivin position (my fault for gettin her the orvis zj), so an estate is out
I like sound proofin, so the transit is out
And the shogun is a pikey wagon :003:
I just need to nurse the espace for a few more years, by then my lifted old Chief with newly fitted widetrack dana 44's & 35" muds will be coming home and I can sling in the extra bench seat and we have our 8 seater which Mrs BD likes :icon_super:
-
So in reality it will be a transit then..

AEC Renown

-

Not quite true, they certainly do seem to like to steal them........
-

Hi there,I'm new here yet I would like to help.I had a problem like that on an old Y plate fockall cavalier, and it was the front wheel bearings..the rumble was at 70mph and went away at 80mph ..later it knocked like a bugger on full right lock.also the link had snapped between the lower wishbone and rollbar .That wasnt apparent until i jacked up the front wheel.I dont know if the Ren oh!! has that sort of weakspot .Oh and last year I had my tdci mondeo chewed a rear bearing with very little warning on the way back from south of France(repaired in Essex :icon_biggrin:)..see french cars belong in france only :icon_winkle:. Good luck to the repair ,sale,or burning.
-
Cheers DJ, looks like I have work (well looking anyway) at the weekend
-
5 Series BMs are famous for this vibration issue which comes in at 2 roadspeeds - no one really knows why they do it as its only about 50% that develop the fault with age, I had 1 that was sweet as a nut till I smashed it and another that drove me round the twist till I sold it!
DJ is very much on the right track here, its time hoik the front end up in the air and start checking all the steering gear, anti roll bars, rubber bushes, control rod ends, the lot!
If its like the BMW it will be the upper control rods (or something similar) - just because they are the most difficult to get to and consequently most overlooked.
-
nearside front drive shaft, naturally only renault sell it, £540 just for parts :010:
-
Terry McCann should have one behind the bar at the Winchester.
Give him the nod,no plod mindya.
-
:003: Im only barely understanding jeeps, bein an Arthur with a renault is beyond me
-
anyone have any ideas on how i could find out if the 2.2 diesel drive shaft is the same as the 3.0 diesel for the same model/year? can find 2.2 cheap, but none for the 3 litre. Have tried renault forum, but no help
-
I'll ring me mate tomoz, he's a frenh car breakers

I thought french cars broke themselves and you just had to collect the debris. Or is that TataRovers :003:
-
good point, mike :hysterical: :hysterical:
-
Burn It... Burn It NOW. let the flames purify your soul, burn the devil spawn, for all our sakes BURN IT
-
I like your thinking but knowing the Frenchies I'd say you'd be better going to the supermarket and buying a large bunch of straws to clutch.
If it's any help a mate from work just had to spend £97 + vat for a Laguna headlight bulb so 540 for a lump of metal starts to seem value for money.
I'll refer you to our previous statement below, the fun's only just begun.
I just need to nurse the espace for a few more years
Well, you're right, someone has to provide an economic stimulus.

Hmmmm.........I see your fun had begun much earlier.
Between a rock and a hard place it would appear.
Fingers crossed about the 2.2 shaft fitting.
-
mine is a 3.0 dci (diesel) on a 54 plate, auto,
and just to take the piss they called the model 'privilege' (not much fuckin irony there then!)
the ones on ebay have a front nearside drive shaft, but are same year, auto, but with 2.2 DCI
cheers
-
true you never see them in landys
Not quite true, they certainly do seem to like to steal them........
Only so they can sell the parts. There's a well know LR garage round these parts, and the owner had a LR nicked off the forecourt. Police got in touch with them to say they'd found it in a field and asked the bloke to go and collect it with a couple of mates. When they turned up, the field was full of pikeys. The police kept the pikeys at bay, the owners went to collect the LR, but were stopped in their tracks by a bunch of pikey kids who decided to smash it up. The police.........did nothing. Nice.
-
hi have u given french german and swedish a try :icon_biggrin:
-
BD, the 2.2 is a 4 pot.
Is 3.0 not v6??
-
it is a v6, does that fook that plan?
-
Not necessarily but more than likely :010:
A frenchy expert would have to confirm but I'd think as the engines will be different sizes so will be the shafts.
That is only applying commonsense so with it being French the shafts may well be identical. :017:
-
:003: u aint wrong there
-
I'LL DO ME BEST :003:
-
right, me mate has no idea :lol_hitting:
most if not all of the said shitheaps are in poland :icon_eek: :017:
