Title: XJ Roof Mount Spare and Basket
Post by: gadget on November 23, 2010, 06:18:50 PM
Hi All,

I have been looking around the net for the different answers to this and it looks like I am going to get a MIG and get to work.

I wish I could find the MOPAR Roof Spare Mount, yet if wishes were horses beggars would be riding.

I am going to make the fabrication so that it fits the stock roof bar rails.

If I am able to template it, would anyone here be interested buying one?

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob,

I'm currently looking into getting my spare on the roof as I often take the dog out with me, and with a box of 'supplies' in the boot as well as the spare, it doesn't leave much room for her! I also want to secure the hi-lift on there too...

Depending on how much it ends up costing, and whether I can bodge something up in the meantime, I could certainly be interested...

Thanks,

Jon.

be carefull on the roof rack mountings, the std crossbars will not stop a wheel from literally flying off when a car pulls out in front of you.

have a look here

Will take a look at the standard mounting strength.

I will aim for the rack to be a good deal more affordable.
