Buggered if I can get any sense out of the stealership as to what type of starter is on my 1998 Jeep XJ 2.5TDi is it 9 or 10 teeth. Anyone have any ideas?
I would like to know before I order one

its only 2 wires and 2 bolts, pop it out and count the teeth on the end, unless someone can tell you how to identify it from the outer case

From what I have read on the forum, getting the starter motor off is no simple task...

local garage has a 97 2.5td that has been scrapped because of a duff starter, IIRC the job with a NEW starter was quoted at around £450, isn't it around a days labour to swap?
