Title: diesel wont start
Post by: brian reid on December 27, 2010, 07:07:07 PM
2.5td 1998 cherokee, chucked it,changed fillter, now only runs for short time the cuts out at most she runs for 5-10 mins.

seems some air and bubbles come out when you open the bleed screw, the plunger rubber has perished and cant pump air out and fuel up by hand, filled new filter before fitting and topped off via brass bold on top of housing,so why the non starter and can i get a new plunger rubber or mod for this

old filter was filthy due to running tank low a few weeks before i reckon

she chucked it 5 mins after being flung around a bit on 1/4 of a tank, gulb of air maybe

any help welcome

going to have a crack this tommorow,my priming pump does not work anymore,so if there is air in the fuel line from the tank dont know what i will do,thinking of changing this all out in the summer for some other arrangment, will have to see what we can come up with in the scrap yards,

thanks for you input

getting a ggod seal at the filter top housing was a pain, bought a filter remover, not the chain type, put another half turn on the filter and she came to life, and runs fine now.

the filter wasa WIX make, other makelie mann have sealed a lot more easy
