Title: Wheels and tyres question for XJ
Post by: bill99 on January 03, 2011, 11:42:28 PM
I was looking for info in the tyre size sticky above from bulldog67, but the pdf link does not work for me.

Anyway I was also looking for a complete spare set of wheels so I can have a summer and winter set, so before I go trailing round the scrappies and small adds, I thought better ask first what will fit and what to avoid.

My jeep is as standard 1999 Cherokee Orvis, 4-litre petrol with five spoke alloys, and 5 stud hubs, the present tyres are Goodyear Eagle GA size 225/70/R15. That’s what came on the car but they seem to be discontinued so it looks like a change next time.

For example do all XJ Cherokee’s have 15-inch rims and will Grand Cherokee’s wheels fit or do they have different offsets.   Also any years to avoid with narrower rims etc.

Seems like every XJ Jeep I look at has a different set of alloys, what type is good and what if any is bad?

All advice welcome

If anyone has a good set for sale in Scotland, or knows of some let me know with a pm.

Cheers

Bill

15's are I think the norm with XJs...smack some 235 75 R15's on it AT or MT adjust the steeringstops  if necessary - couple of washers and rock.. :icon_super:
