Title: Where to put axle stands on a WJ

Happy New Year to you all !! :icon_winkle:

I'm getting the wheels of the Grand C. powder coated and need to sit the car on axle stands for the duration.....
Where's best to locate them.?

I've always found jacking the Jeep tricky as the suspension is so pliable ..... and to sit is safely on axle stands could be entertaining.....

the only place to support the jeep is on the box section in front of the rear wheels and behind the front wheels.
as its quite wide i use a large block of wood to spread the load of the axle stand, which also makes the cup on the stand
more stable as it digs into the wood.

How can I say this without sounding condescending....... Axle stands...... You put the axle on them.

Sorry guys you have all made the most elimentary mistake.
You have to put 'em on the floor!
They won't work otherwise I don't think.

Hey Prozac give it a tab wait an hour and it will stand on anything!!!!!
