Just got back! Snorkel installed, all intakes raised, trans, gearbox, axles etc.. and brake pipes adjusted for clearance. Took 11 hours of work to finish it. :icon_eek: Glad I didn't try it myself now.

I'm not planning on fitting a snorkel to mine, but will look at extending / raising breathers, especially for the auto box.

Yeah, apparently it's easier on the auto. Chris had to lift out the manual sticks to get at the breather there which was partly why it took so long to install. On the auto apparently it's not such a fiddle.

BD and Bubba, will try to get a pick tomorrow. Looks the danglies. One thing that was great was Chris already new the vibration issues a lot of people have with these snorkels and had a good remedy for it. On the Ozzy forums there's loads of guys with problems with their's after install. Altogether, cost me an arm and a leg but I'm pleased it's been done properly. No way I could have done it myself, that's for sure.

Oh...and I bet you guys didn't know you can get these Safari snorkels in polished steel! :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:

:003: Don't worry, it's matt black. :003:

Cheers Bish. I'm really enjoying getting this one to where I want it. It's a fine line keeping it within reason so that it remains a presentable daily driver for visiting clients but heck, as long it's shiny when I arrive no-one seems to mind. Good topic of conversation, actually.

Chris came close to talking me into a Teraflex suspension kit until he told me the price was £2800 for the kit plus labour and VAT.. :icon_eek: Decided to stick with what I've got for the foreseeable future. :003:

He did persuade me that I need a Tunit box, though. He's becoming a distributor and one of the 11 maps within apparently really makes the 2.8 CRD shine with better responses and improved MPG. A friend of his has used that map for 3 years now with no ill effects on his JK so Chris is endorsing it and fitting it. Mine will hopefully be getting that done in the next few weeks. :icon_super:

On a down note the wife just veto'd my Gobi roof rack. :jpshakehead: Hmm....I'll think of something eventually but it's going to take a seriously good pitch and several pairs of shoes... :icon_twisted:

I do have tailgate and hood gas struts in the garage waiting to be installed as well as tailgate CB antenna mounting bracket and new 4' Firestick. Should stop the wife moaning at having to grab the antenna off the hood every time we park in an indoor carpark. :003:
