Hi there,
FOund the post on here listing all lubricants (very helpful)
"Front axle 1.2 4874468 API 75W90 GL5 gear oil
Rear axle* 1.4 4874468 API 75W90 GL5 gear oil
*Use additive 04318060AB
with Trac-Lok differential "
My wife has an Xtrail and i was checking the Castrol website to service her car and checked the info for my Jeep:-
"Manual Transmission -
Automatic Transmission REFER TO MAIN DEALER (b) 3.8 (c)
Differential Syntrax Universal (d,e,f) 1.5 / 1.6
Coolant (50%) Antifreeze 9.0
Brake Fluid Response DOT 4
Grease Points REFER TO MAIN DEALER
Power Steering REFER TO MAIN DEALER
Transfer Box ATF TQ DIII 1.2
TQ-D "
My question is...can i use this "Syntrax Universal" in my Diffs?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190354010781&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190354010781&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT)
And will i need an additive in both diffs?
is this the one?

Thanks

Additive must be added to the oil in the rear diff..

Yes, that gear oil is fine, and yes, that's the additive. As BF says, rear diff, not needed in the front.
