Title: Cherokee 2.5 TD Sport.
Post by: TATTYVEST on February 28, 2011, 09:28:59 PM
Further to my last post where I mentioned my problems with a stall and no start situation resulting in a AA relay rescue,I can now continue with my bad luck story :icon_sad:.
Thinking the battery was flat I called in the AA Battery help service (free to AA members!) who checked it but found it low on volts, but still couldn't start it with his jump start box.
The AA man then arranged for breakdown mechanic to come and have a look.
He soon found that the clutch didn't depress far enough to engage the starter circuit. He pressed very hard on the clutch pedal which suddenly went down with a bang, and enabled the engine to turn, but with nasty noises coming from the clutch!
So I'm into a new clutch and battery. Still, hopefully,"darkest hour before the dawn"

not an auto box - facelift have a switch which means you need to press it in to start (as most americans can't drive stick) - but you can just bypass the switch so you don't need to :icon_winkle:
