Can any one please explain what the vehicle type codes on part lists etc refer to ie where it says ZKG, ZZG etc. How do i relate that to my vehicle?? I cant find any of the common combos in the vin
thanks

Your VIN has nothing to do with part numbers. Or do you mean something else. Don't really understand what you're asking.
-
Here's an example. At the start of the brakes section in the 97 TJ parts list it states...
Note:Sales Codes;
[BGA]=Brakes - Power Front Disc/Rear Drum
[BGK]=Brakes - 4-Wheel Anti-lock
I have rear drum brakes so the BGA code applies to my Jeep. In my build sheet from Jeep the entry for brakes is...
BGAS Power Front Disc/Rear Drum Brakes
It looks like the parts list only uses the first three letters of the codes in the build sheet.
To get a build sheet for your Jeep so you can match up which parts are for you vehicle go here...

Click the send us an email link, and send a message asking for the build sheet for your Jeep and including the last 8 digits of your VIN.

cheers much appreciated.
I was wondering if it was an id extracted from the chassis vin , clearly not :icon_biggrin:

sort of related to this thread, can Jeep.com give you the build sheets of WJ's built in Austria?
-
I don't see why not. Best way to find out the answer though is contact them.

ENF = 2.7 diesel, DGJ = 5 speed auto, U = Right Hand Drive with 4 Wheel Drive, P = Limited, 74 = 4 door

I filled in the form, using their State and Zipcode, and provided the required info from my new Wrangler.
A day later, I got the requested info :icon_super:
I use jeep.com more often than the useless UK site. At least the USA have decent support on their site, with the ability to download user manuals as well.
-
the uk jeep site is very limited compared to the us one, supose they are busy intergrating everything into the fiat way of doing things
does this mean a return of VM diesels? them being italian.
