Title: 1997 4.0 jeep immobiliser

Hello

I have a Grand Cherokee and have been using it daily without issues, thats until I used the key to unlock the boot only and didn't use the key fob. A little while later I went to get into the vehicle and the Fob would not unlock the the car nor will the engine start. The fob will now only lock the vehicle but not unlock.
I know that the fob disarms the immobiliser and when I open the door with the key then try to start the vehicle the hazard light flash for a time.

Where do I go from here, can anyone help?

Try disconnecting the battery for a while
