Title: Diesel filter wj/wg 2002 2.7crd
Post by: daved on March 05, 2011, 12:16:48 AM
Doing a service on my 2.7crd tomorrow (weather pending  :icon_sad:) The one thing i havent sussed is probably the most simple of the jobs.

I can see the diesel filter but what i cant see or work out is how to prime the system after changing it. on my terrano for example there was a button to push in and out until it pumped the air through/fuel in.

Any advice please, all hints and tips gratefully acccepted  :icon_super:

if its like the 3.1td theres a white plastic plunger in the middle of the housing. should say in the handbook what to do
in case you run the tank dry and have to hand prime the system. mine says you need to pump it at least 100 times!

There is no priming pump. There is a fitting on the fuel rail to attach a special suction pump to, but you don't have one so fill the filter with fuel before you fit it, then crank the engine till it starts.
