Hi,
I'm picking the above up on Friday and I'm wondering if anyone on this site knows anything about it? Has it been regeared? Running 33"x 12.5" at mo, is the rear axle a Dana 44?
Any info would be good, here is the ebay link with a list of mods. As ever thanks in advance Maf

no nowt but it looks good
-
Before buying it, make sure You test drive it and not him. Also check the front and rear shafts. I know this guy and he sells loads off Jeeps, god knows where he gets them from
-
is he related to BD?
-
:003: too electrickerised

Thanks for the heads up, I'll have a good crawl over it, a drive and hopefully its as described, cheers Maf

They all have 44s over here.

Sweet, that's what I want... had a chat with guy and checked it's ok for me to Jack it up, check for re gear, check it's all stong and good as I'm planning on using it for punch hunts etc, he's cool with that, so happy days, will of course let you know how it all pans out, cheers Maf

Sadly no good, front diff had play, had recently been worked on... rear prob, UJ shot, which meant I couldn't check if the diff was set up right, also wondered if it would make 200+ miles home and not wreck everything in sight.... rear prop looked like it was a second hand replacement part and therefore I felt maybe the rear diff (if set up poorly like the front) had caused the failure...
Stopped there, didn't even look at anything else on it...
It had a 'NorthWales 4x4' sticker on the windscreen...
Got deposit back, but lost 24 hours of my life, hotel was crap along with breakfast, all in all, junk

Better that than buy a wreck
-
Sorry to hear that Maf, but good you know your stuff.
Now some unsuspecting, un-knowledgable sod will buy it and land himself in a world of pain.
Wonder how many of these 'truly magnificent' Wranglers are duffers :017:
-
A Friend recently said, if a vehicle is on ebay its for a reason, unless matey goes through the truck properly I feel sorry for the next owner.
Shame as I've wanted a TJ for ages, YJ was great fun, for now think I'll stick with tricked up XJ, I know everything is set up well on that one... I've done it all, Aussie lockers and 4.56:1 gearing, flex lower arms awsome, just need to lose some bodywork at the back, thinking 4 door crew cab this time...
Cheers Maf

The seller has been known in the past to sell knackered out Jeeps
-
you could have saved Maf a journey then
-
Yeah, but would have been gutted if I'd got it delivered.
Trouble is all his feedback on eblag didn't show any Jeep sales... I guess we can all be wary off his Jeeps now and hopefully none of us will get caught?
Hey ho, all meant to be, I prob would have wrecked the body work and lost a load of money, will stick to trashing Cherokee's, easier on the pocket eh? Just wanted a Wrangler again as shorter and less beaching out in punch hunts, that said we got the best time in a tricky timed sections against a load of mad challenge spec stuff, was a fun section you had to put 6 golf balls in cups nailed to trees, tricky to get to and then get them all back without leaving the Jeep, so no dropping them, or leaving your truck.

if you still fancy one, as Bubba hinted my 53 reg tomb raider will be for sale soon, 31's, 2" OME lift, 1" body and engine lift, snorkel, rock rails, phatfux bumpers, a few scratches but mechanically good
-
yup in good order :iagree:
-
Not all jeeps he had sold were bad, and it's not my place to say don't go.

its a tough one when you know a vendor may not be totally honorable

It's a tricky one, matey (I felt) didn't know enough about what he was selling, he claimed the UJ wasn't noisy so was fine, a simple grab the propshaft clearly showed it was on it's way out, as for the front, to much play showed it had not been set up right.
I'm sure he does sell some good Jeeps, Maf
-
out of interest how much did he want for it?

£4,500 inc 2nd set of wheels with STT tyres
-
makes me wonder what this one here is worth now! lol
-
:imwitstupid:
Although I would only sell mine for a ridiculously high price (only 'cos I don't need to sell it).
How on earth do you realistically value a modified Jeep?
-
Problem is they often won't value at much more than book. Mods might make it more interesting for a certain audience but more often than not you end up losing the bulk of what you've spent.
