Need a battery for the Bastard, and the Bastard's Ramsey winch, but know fuck all about batteries TBH, I bookmarked a thread about Nexus buyin an odyssey 1500 pcd, and while i dont mind coughin up biggish bucks there was also a view expressed on that thread that an FSJ should just have the biggest bugger I could find, but I dont kno how the biggest bugger would present itself (im assumin not actual size :003: )
I dont want shite coz i seem to be cursed with batteries that go flat on me
views please? :100:

Try carbatteriesonline.co.uk or ring them 011598322890 got a good deal on the Bosch one for the XJ.
-
YOu might find advice on XJ and TJ batteries is quite specific because of which way round the terminals are and what space there is to fit them in. I have an Odyssey 1500 cos it's the biggest that'll fit in an XJ battery tray. Any battery is at risk if you leave it in a vehicle stood up for too long. Maybe worth buying a CTEK or other smart charger that you can leave connected when they are parked up.
-
Arr keep it charged...see if a Varta will fit....avoid Optima...overrated stuff
-
The Bosch one will fit an XJ by trimming the lip off one end , then use a different top to hold it secure.
-
but do i go but a HGV one?

try interstate batteries (http://www.interstatebatteries.com/cs_estore/Results.aspx/Cars%20and%20Trucks?dsNavigation=N~21) when you get to your model it will give you all the sizes you need to find a battery that will fit without mods
-
cheers dood, halfway there, but i dont understand the tech shite, surely it aint about just physical size :017:
-
first thing where are you mounting them or it if you have two they need to be the same model and age if you are wiring them in line without a split charge system
-
i was thinkin i was just gonna get one big boy to handle the work, coz the current battery is bound to be shit
2 would be extra work, and im not wantin to be takin liberties :icon_redface:
-
simple then just get the biggest baddest one you can find
-
:hysterical: then we back to same problem, one constitutes "biggest baddest"
-
use that site to get the physical dimensions that will fit your wagon without mods then buy the most powerful that fits those sizes
-
aaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhh :banghead:
:010: wot, or how, is the most powerful measured
dear bloody gawd are u all doin this on purpose :jpshakehead:
-
CCA and Ah are your measuring sticks.
-
:iagree:
CCA (cold cranking amps) or Ah (amp hours) and the higher the better
-
hallyfrickinlujah :lol_hitting:
-
As I understand it CCA is the power it can kick out to start the engine and the Ah is how big it is in terms of storage - bigger means you can run you radio off it for longer before it's flat.
The reason people go for expensive batteries like Odyssey is normally because they pack a bit more CCA and Ah into a smaller box. With a big truck like yours you can probably just get a big boy 'standard' battery.
