Title: jeep cherokee 2.5 diesel towbar.

l have a 98 cherokee and am in need of a towbar. There are plenty for sale on e-bay but for earlier models ie. up to 97. Does anyone know if an earlier one will fit, cheers.

Any cherokee towbar will fit I believe

Not 100% sure about that, I bought one off the bay for my old Mk2 Cherokee. The outer brackets fouled the outside of the chassis, as in it was too narrow to fit over the chassis.

IIRC had to chop these back & weld 1/4" plates made to the original shape & holes etc ..... worked a treat though so they can be modded ;)

thanks for the replies guys, think i'll buy a new one. Can't be arsed with modifying and welding.

mk1 & mk2 tow bars are different, they can  be made to fit but not worth it
