OK has anyone taken one apart, I had one that was weeping slightly from the 'o' ring on the handle pump, replaced the seal and clean it all up , put back together but now its not working, also found a small ball bearing where I took it apart but can't remember seeing/taking out but wondered if thats supposed to sit under the piston?

I seem to remember a ball bearing being part of a ram that i had trouble with on a trailer ram which was part of the lift for the bed.I believe although could be mistaken that it acts as a sort of non return valve in the piston,so as you pump the pressure pushes it out the way but as soon as its released it then again plugs the hole so to speak.Like i said could be wrong but it does seem a vital piece in the assembly
