My 2002 gr cherokee 2.7crd has quadra trac stamped on the gearshit panel. I presume this is a different system to quadra loc?????? and quadra loc is not a sort of sub part???
The reason Im asking is Im not sure whether to select lube for my leaking front axle and im not sure if i go for "std axle" or "quadra loc"
Is there any way i can tell looking underneath?
in fact just thinking about it would it harm the std spec diff if i put the 75/140 oil put friction modifier in to cover all options
cheers

you have quadra-trac2, its quadradrive that needs the LSD addative in the diffs (variloc diffs). If you are feeling flush stick in some 75w140 oil, otherwise standard diff oil does in the none variloc axles

Thanks.
would it stuff up the diff if i put friction modifier in (hypothetical question as Im not going to :icon_winkle: )

bump................
significant clue in the name but what does the additive do and why ?
would it knack a quadratrac if shoved in?

It alters the properties of the oil allowing limited slip clutch discs to slide over each other smoothly without juddering. It will have no effect in an open diff.
