So, after trawling the interweb and gettin various answers im puttin my money on you lot offerin a modicum of sense ( :eusa_doh: ) with the following train of thought:
wide track 1979 Chief, stock, will it fit 33x12.50s and still behave with all round civility that it is currently blessed with?
and would a front shackle lift of 1" and a rear block unduly affect the aforementioned civility?
and with that teeny lift do I have to enter into a world of shims etc?
Muchos grassyarse senors and momomomomomos :greggmo:

:icon_eek: have I out questioned the mighty and powerful collective tech heads ?
-
no

think you have asked this one before so go and check your previous posts. :hysterical:
-
I most definately havent asked this one before
there must be a comprimise as a 4" lift on a Chief leaves room for 35's if its just road use, i have seen one and driven it, so 33's should be able to come under that amount of lift
looks like its a 7" SOA then instead :003:
-
one inch wont clear 33s i dont reckon on steering lock
and if they did you mpg will go down and you dont have much to play with to start with
-
My blue thing had 3" blocks at the back and a combination of add a leaf plus coil over booster shockers at the front giving about the same lift.
Dunno if any of this was a purpose made kit or just cobbled together.
You could ask on the IFSJA but I wouldn't expect much sense from them.
It ran 33/12.50/15 on standard chrome jeep 8 spokes.
I'd guess it was never used on rough terrain at all judging from the chrome side drag pipes fitted and blacked out windows.
More of an on road poser TBH

I have tried a few times to get sense out of ifsja and i think there is a language barrier :003:
looks like it stays stock then until I can afford a decent sized lift - bollox :011:
in the meantime, is it ok to put 31x10.5 tyres on a 15x10 wheel?
-
yes
-
cool, might rob the wheels i got for the CJ when it gets the dana 44's then, let the black begin :003:
